Goa Yoga Holidays
As an introduction to the Indian subcontinent, Goa is a perfect point to taste the exotic and magical nature of India. Goa Yoga Holidays are a wonderful way of experiencing yoga in one of the most beautiful settings.
Popular with teachers and ashrams dedicated to yoga and meditation, it is possible to find great retreats an training for yoga ayurveda and meditation.
Many Europeans and US based teachers have been able to set up jointly or inderpendently, their own schools and training retreat centres in Goa, making the availabiltiy of Goa Yoga Holidays a reality for many tourists and spiritual seekers.
Some centres and retreats and holiday yoga centres are listed below:
The Ashiyana Centre is the on-going realization of the desire to create a spiritual home. In its highest expression this is an opportunity to meet others in the heart, beyond fear and thought. It is a retreat centre that brings guests from all over the world and a group of local staff and foreign helpers who together make up the Ashiyana community.
It allows a Goa yoga holiday to be taken at the centre and benefit from the classes and drop in facility.
The Brahmani Yoga Centre in Goa runs retreats and holistic holidays and a range of excellent teachers, based there and visiting. Set amongst tropical gardens in Anjuna, North Goa Brahmani Yoga offers classes in a variety of styles and levels with highly experienced teachers from around the globe. They also have Yoga Alliance registered Teacher Training courses, Massage Training and Weekend Workshops.
UK Based Yoga Teacher, Simon Low runs retreats worldwide and his Goa yoga retreat is not to be missed

Stewart Gilchrist’s fantastic 10 day yoga workshops start in 2012 on Jan 7th and Jan 19th.

Come and stay at the sublime Jivana Plantation, a unique venue for yoga retreats in Goa, with a beautiful shala surrounded by banana plant, palms, cashew and mango trees. Accommodation is at participants’ discretion and is available at Jivana and also at nearby Ashvem Beach; of course we do encourage particpants to stay at Jivana and be part of the group.
The workshop fee includes just the tuition, and this consists of two daily sessions: a dynamic morning session with a more restorative session in the late afternoon / early evening.

Thank you for you interest in our Level 1 Yoga Teacher Training. Deciding to teach yoga should not be a career move. It should be a sincere calling deep within your heart. Yoga Teacher Training is an investment in the future. Being an inspired and excellent teacher involves much more than getting a certificate. It requires dedication, discipline and years of continuous practice. You must also have a true desire to serve others. Without these, teaching becomes a mere job and you will fail to communicate to your students the true message of yoga. That said, everyone has to begin somewhere on the path. Why not start here?
To be accepted on the training, you need to have practiced yoga on a regular basis for at least two years, otherwise you won’t have the necessary physical stamina and mental discipline to succeed. This training is designed to be challenging and intense on a physical and emotional level. Six days a week you will do up to nine hours of yoga practice (pranayama, meditation, asana, philosophy, anatomy & physiology, as well as the business of yoga and practical teaching). The teachers will guide you and offer support, but ultimately it is up to you to accept the challenges that this yoga training offers and the willingness to accept transformation on a mental, physical, emotional and spiritual level.
Although there is no prerequisite yoga experience on this course, it doesn’t mean its going to be easy! This training is designed to be challenging and intense on a physical and emotional level. Six days a week you will do up to seven hours of yoga practice. The teachers will guide you and offer support, but ultimately it is up to you to accept the challenges that this yoga training offers.
