The Venue
Two beautifully restored 17th C. stone farmhouses with terraces open out to a gentle panorama of olive groves, fruit trees, woodlands and stunning sunsets. The property spans over several lush acres with a natural spring, gardens and outdoor swimming pool. There are quiet indoor/outdoor spaces ideal for yoga, meditation and reading. There is also an excellent therapist on site. Comfortable rooms are elegantly furnished with antiques and modern decor. Four of the bedrooms are ensuite; one has its own toilet and basin; others share bathrooms between two rooms. Rooms are allocated on a first come, first served basis, so if you want to come its wise to book right away.
The Yoga
Each day will begin with a led Astanga Vinyasa Yoga Primary Series class. (Mysore self-practice is also an alternative.) An afternoon class will focus on different aspects of asana, pranayama and meditation. We'll study the inner and outer techniques of vinyasa that tie the poses together in a ‘moving meditation'; develop the ‘inner limbs' of yoga to develop focus and concentration skills that enhance clarity of mind; use the breath to feel safe enough to move through difficult poses and work honestly at your edge; shift energy in problem areas (hips & shoulders); restorative yoga; use yoga as a healing/transformational tool to move through fear and release hardness in the body; experience deep inner peace and insight; learn to be at ease in the present moment. Develop a daily practise so inspiring you'll want to get on your mat as soon as you get home. Be a yogi for life!
This workshop will inspire and challenge all levels of yoga student. In the past, participants have ranged in age from 26 - 57. Beginners are welcome as long as you have some yoga experience, are relatively fit and willing to try.
(There will be a free afternoon/morning to allow for a mid-week excursion.)
