These residentials offer relatively low cost yoga teacher training for all students looking to accreditation for the yoga teacher training. The Ruth White Yoga teacher training UK and in Greece means that on the beautiful island of Lesbos students are introduced to all sorts of variations of teacher training needs. These may include prenatal teacher training yoga and anatomy and physiology.

Pada 1 Sutra 1
Students will be given whole syllabus
Requirements are:-
• to establish a daily practice - this is the 1st and most important requisite
• to obtain the 6 set books for study during the course
• attend talks given on Anatomy & Physiology, Pranayama
• submit the Anatomy Questionnaire
• Personal Assessment
[Students are not assessed on "A" advanced asanas until Module 6].
2nd Module
Students are required: -
• to familiarise themselves with the Sanskrit names
• attend talks on Mudras and Bandhas
• practise deep breathing 10 minutes a day (if not practising pranayama)
• to continue a daily yoga practise
• Personal Assessment
3rd Module
Students will: -
• complete and submit the Professional Teaching paper
• continue to learn Sanskrit names practise Pranayama & begin Ujjayi breathing
• Personal Assessment, including Ujjayi, Pranayama
4th Module
Students undertake: -
• the practise of teaching students
• begin to work towards the ‘A’ advanced postures
• the practise of Bhastrika and Alternate Nasal breathing from now on (Please seek assistance if there is any problem)
• Teaching Assessment
• Personal Assessment
5th Module
Students are requested to: -
• answer specific questions (refer to questionnaire)
• attend talks to include Kriyas
• practise the ‘A’ advanced postures according to ability

Students are requested to: -
• answer questions on philosophy (refer to questionnaire)
• learn the ‘A’ advanced postures (aids to be used if necessary)
• Teaching & Personal Assessment for final certification.
• 6th Module practical assessments are taken by senior qualified teachers: Ruth moderates. A maximum of 5 trainee students can take their assessment at any one time.

Course Fees
The initial registration fee is £120 for the course. this covers administration and syllabus costs for the duration of the course. A fee of £95 for each module covers the assessment and the extra classes for trainee teachers on residentials. This fee will cover the teachers training tuition for the period of time it takes for the student to be ready to finish the module. Other costs include your weekly classes, books, first aid course as well as residentials and yoga days.
Upon completing module 3, you will need to take out insurance cover and we will send you the proposal form with your module 2 certificate. The cost is approximately £50 per annum with Yoga Link and they will send you an annual reminder.
This is a practical course that lifts the heart and spirit. It is a natural progression that when you love your yoga so much, your love overflows and you want to share it with others.
With this correspondence, please let us know when you would like to attend either a teacher training class, a yoga day or residential weekend so that Ruth can assess where you would fit in prior to starting the course. This is also a good opportunity to meet Ruth and your fellow teachers in training and discuss the course content.
Here is the training programme and syllabus outline for our Karuna Yoga Teaching Diploma Certificate. Each candidate has an attendance card, which they present or hand in at the end of each module. The complete course consists of 6 modules, which may be completed in two years but not more than four.
As a student you will need to:
1. establish a daily practice
2. continue with your weekly local class
3. go to a second weekly class, either at the Yoga Centre or a local class
4. do practical homework/reading as given in your newsletter
5. attend 7 days of residentials for each module
6. complete the coursework necessary for that particular module (see syllabus)

At some point during the six modules, you will be required to complete:
1. a first aid course (these are held on residential weekends, usually twice a year)
2. a term of philosophy classes or residentials which lead to meditation
Forthcoming events, practice tips and bits of inspiration are announced in the regular teacher training newsletter. There are many residential weekends, long weekends and weeks spread throughout the year and they are held all over the British Isles and in the Greek Islands. We also hold yoga days, some of which are in London (these count as one day towards a module).
Guest speakers give talks on our residentials and days. Subjects covered are listed on pages 8 and 9 of the syllabus. Students take an active part at these lectures, which are followed with questions and answers.
Pranayama can be practised in or after savasana and before breakfast on the residentials. Meditation and chanting are practised during residentials and days sometimes after savasana.
Modules gradually become more demanding and include:

Teacher Training Notes
Each week a newsletter is issued to the teachers in training, which includes the weekly homework and study area. This is particularly useful for distance students.
